1. Což tedy díme? Snad *zůstaneme v hříchu, aby se milost rozhojnila? *Ga 2,17
1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2. Nikoli. Kteříž jsme zemřeli hříchu, kterakž ještě živi budeme v něm?
2. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3. Zdaliž *nevíte, že kteřížkoli pokřtěni jsme v Krista Ježíše, v smrt jeho pokřtěni jsme? *Ga 3,27 *Ko 2,12 1Pt 3,21
3. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4. Pohřbeni jsme tedy s ním skrze křest v smrt, abychom, *jakož z mrtvých vstal Kristus k slávě Otce, tak i my &v novotě života chodili. Ef 4,24 &Ko 3,10 *Ř 8,11 Fp 3,11 Ko 2,12 &1K 6,14 Žd 12,1
4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5. Nebo poněvadž jsme v něj vštípeni připodobněním smrti jeho, tedy *i vzkříšením jemu připodobněni budeme, *8,11 Fp 3,10-11
5. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6. To vědouce, že starý člověk náš s ním *spolu ukřižován jest, aby bylo umrtveno tělo hřícha, abychom již potom nesloužili hříchu. *Ga 2,20
6. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7. Nebo kdožť *umřel, ospravedlněn jest od hříchu. *1Pt 4,1
7. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8. Jestližeť jsme pak *zemřeli s Kristem, věřímeť, že spolu s ním také živi budeme, 1K 6,14 2K 4,14 *2Tm 2,11
8. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9. Vědouce, že Kristus °vstav z mrtvých, již více neumírá, smrt nad ním již více nepanuje. °Zj 1,18
9. Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10. Nebo že jest umřel, hříchu *umřel jednou; že pak &jest živ, živ jest Bohu. *Žd 7,27 &L 20,38 Žd 9,24
10. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11. Tak i vy za to mějte, že jste zemřeli zajisté hříchu, ale *živi jste Bohu v Kristu Ježíši, Pánu našem. *Ga 2,19 1Pt 2,24
11. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12. *Nepanujž tedy hřích v smrtelném těle vašem, tak abyste &povolovali jemu v žádostech jeho. *5,21 &6,16
12. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13. Aniž vydávejte údů svých za odění nepravosti kterémukoli hříchu, °ale vydávejte se k sloužení Bohu, jakožto vstavše z mrtvých a jsouce živi, a údy své vydávejte za odění spravedlnosti Bohu. °L 1,74-75 Ga 2,20 Žd 9,14 1Pt 4,2
13. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14. Nebo *hřích nebude panovati nad vámi; nejste zajisté pod Zákonem, ale pod milostí. *Gn 4,7
14. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15. Což tedy? Hřešiti *budeme, když nejsme &pod Zákonem, ale pod milostí? Nikoli. *1 Ga 2,17 &1K 9,21 Ga 2,19
15. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16. Zdaliž °nevíte, že komuž se vydáváte za služebníky ku poslušenství, toho jste služebníci, kohož posloucháte, buďto hříchu k smrti, buďto poslušenství k spravedlnosti? °J 8,34 2Pt 2,19 1K 9,24
16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17. Ale díka Bohu, že byvše služebníci hřícha, uposlechli jste z srdce způsobu učení toho, v kteréž uvedeni jste.
17. But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18. *Vysvobozeni °jsouce pak od hříchu, učiněni jste &služebníci spravedlnosti. °J 8,*32-36 *Ga 5,1 1Pt 2,16 &Ř 16,22
18. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19. Po lidsku pravím, pro mdlobu těla vašeho: Jakž jste vydávali údy vaše v službu nečistotě a nepravosti k tomu, abyste činili nepravost, tak již nyní vydávejte údy vaše v službu spravedlnosti ku posvěcení.
19. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20. Nebo když jste byli *služebníci hřícha, cizí jste byli od spravedlnosti. *J 8,34
20. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21. Jaký jste pak užitek měli tehdáž toho, začež se nyní stydíte? Konec zajisté těch věcí jest smrt.
21. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22. Nyní pak *vysvobozeni jsouce od hříchu a podmaněni v službu Bohu, máte užitek váš ku posvěcení, cíl pak život &věčný. *18 &1Pt 1,9
22. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23. Nebo °odplata za hřích jest smrt, ale &milost Boží jest ÷život věčný v Kristu Ježíši, Pánu našem. °16 Gn 2,17 Ez 3,18 18,18 33,8 1K 15,21 &Ř 11,6 ÷5,21
23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
